If you ever do get the chance to go, just turn up. In
classic U.S. style, the accomodation is in 3 grades. I
stayed in pauper class. It was one of the most exquisite
hotels I have ever stayed in, and the food..., and the
Navajo blankets for
that matter.
It's a nice place to have a car, there's some great drives
through the park, and you can bounce from bay to bay as if
along a coastline. Don't forget (like I did!), to detour
through Monument Valley (where they make the Marlboro ads!)
on the way back to Phoenix. There's nothing like cruising at
a steady 55 on U.S. highways with the radio on, I guess
Black Velvet is still number one in the A.O.R. chart! Next
time San Francisco...
